Flying into Sofia for a ski week in Borovets and bringing your dog? Shuttle buses and public transport are rarely an option with a dog, a crate, ski bags and suitcases all at once. YesTrans drives you, your family and your dog in a private car, minivan or van from the arrivals hall at Sofia Airport straight to the door of your hotel, apartment or chalet in Borovets. The distance is about 75 km and the drive takes around 1 h 30 min, which makes Borovets the closest of the big Bulgarian ski resorts to the airport.
How much does it cost?
Prices are per vehicle, one way, in euro. Pay the driver after the ride, no prepayment.

How the Borovets transfer with a dog works
- Book before you fly. Call or message us on Viber or WhatsApp at +359 897 227 771, or use the online booking form. Give us your flight number, the date and time of arrival and the address of your accommodation in Borovets.
- Tell us about your dog. The approximate size of the dog and whether it travels in a crate or a carrier. If you have a cat, it should stay in a closed carrier for the whole drive.
- Tell us about your ski equipment. Skis, snowboards and boot bags take a lot of space. Write in the booking note how many pairs of skis or boards you carry – this is how we choose between a sedan, a minivan or a van.
- Delayed flight? Waiting at the airport when your flight is late is unlimited, so there is no need to worry about the meeting time.
- Meeting and loading. The driver meets you at arrivals and helps load the crate, the skis and the luggage.
- The drive. An hour and a half is a comfortable journey for most dogs. If yours needs a short walk or some water, just tell the driver and we stop for a few minutes.
- Door to door. We drop you in front of your hotel or chalet in Borovets, not at a bus stop at the bottom of the resort.
- Pay after the ride. There is no prepayment.
Price: for the whole vehicle, not per person
The transfer price is for the whole vehicle – not per passenger and not per dog. To see the current price for your date, use the calculator at the top of this page: choose the vehicle and you get the price in a few seconds. For a couple with a small dog in a carrier and two pairs of skis a sedan is often enough; for a family, a large dog in a crate or several ski bags a minivan or a van is more comfortable. When you book, mention the pet and the equipment and the operator confirms the vehicle and the final price.
Which vehicle for a dog and ski gear
- Sedan – for one or two people with a cat or a small dog in a carrier and a modest amount of luggage.
- Minivan – for a family or a larger dog in a crate, together with ski bags and suitcases.
- Van – for groups, several dogs or a lot of equipment. The crate sits safely and there is still room for everyone.
- S/E class – if you prefer a premium car for the trip to the mountains.
Our fleet includes around 200 sedans, 50 minivans, 100 vans and 20 S/E class cars, and we work 24/7, so early morning and late night flights are no problem. Child seats are provided free of charge – just say how many you need and the age of the children.
Winter driving to Borovets
The road from Sofia Airport goes south-east towards Samokov and then climbs to Borovets. In winter the conditions in the mountains can change during the day. Our driver plans for winter road conditions, and if the weather is bad we would rather take a little more time than rush. You can always tell us about your ski equipment and any special requests in the booking note, and the operator will plan the vehicle accordingly.
A few practical tips for the dog in winter:
- Walk the dog before the flight and again after landing if there is time – the driver can wait while you do a short loop outside the terminal.
- Keep a towel in your hand luggage. Snow and slush on the paws are normal in Borovets.
- Bring the dog’s own blanket or toy for the crate – a familiar smell calms most animals.
- Check with your hotel or chalet in advance that dogs are accepted. Not all accommodation in the resort is pet-friendly.
Pets travel only with their owner
We transport dogs and cats only together with their owner or the person who looks after them – we do not carry animals on their own. The crate or carrier is provided by you. Any documents the animal needs for travelling are the owner’s responsibility; we are a transfer company and simply drive you and your pet from door to door.
Borovets, Samokov and the way back
We drive to any address in Borovets, in Samokov and in the villages nearby. At the end of your holiday we can pick you up from the hotel and drive you back to Sofia Airport in time for your flight – book the return together with the arrival, so the date is reserved. If you plan to ski in more than one resort, we also drive between Borovets, Bansko and Pamporovo.
