The road from Burgas Airport to Obzor
From Burgas Airport the route goes north along the coast, past Pomorie, Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas. After Sveti Vlas the road leaves the sea for a while and climbs over the eastern end of the Balkan Mountains, through forests and small villages, before it comes down again to the coast at Obzor.
The distance is about 70 km and the drive takes roughly an hour and a half. The section over the hills is winding, so if anyone in your group gets car sick, tell the driver – he will drive smoothly and can stop for a short break. In summer, traffic through Sunny Beach can add some time, especially in the evening.
Obzor – a quieter beach between Burgas and Varna
Obzor is known for its long beach. Some visitors stay in the town itself, others in the resort complexes on its edge or in the nearby villages. Because the town lies roughly between Burgas and Varna, it is also a convenient base for trips in both directions.
If you are flying out of Varna instead of Burgas at the end of your holiday, that is no problem – we drive from Obzor to Varna Airport as well. Just tell us your flight details and we will plan the pick-up time.
