How far are the northern Black Sea resorts from Varna?
Varna is the gateway to the resorts north of the city. Most of them are less than an hour away, but in summer the coast road to Golden Sands and Albena gets busy, especially in the evening.

Do you drive from Varna to Romania and Turkey?
Yes. From Varna to Bucharest it is 265 km, about 3 h 45 min, via Ruse or via Durankulak. Constanța is 150 km away, about 2 h 30 min, and the Durankulak border crossing 105 km. Istanbul’s new airport is 430 km away, about 5 h 45 min. When travelling abroad, bring an ID card or passport for every passenger, children included. - Confirmation. The dispatcher confirms the vehicle, the price and the meeting point.
- Pick-up. From the airport, the railway station, the bus station, the port or any address in Varna and the resorts.
- The ride. Straight to your destination, with no other passengers.
- Payment. After the ride, to the driver.
How do pick-ups at Varna Airport and the stations work?
When you land at Varna Airport, we wait with no time limit if your flight is late – so it is important to give us the flight number. Varna Central Railway Station is next to the port, at the edge of the centre, and the Central Bus Station is on Vladislav Varnenchik Boulevard. If you arrive on the night train from Sofia and are going on to Albena or Balchik, we will pick you up from the station early in the morning.
Can I book a day trip around Varna?
If you are on holiday in Varna or in the nearby resorts, you can also book a car for a short trip to the sights. The Stone Forest (Pobiti Kamani) is west of the city, not far from the airport road. The Aladzha Monastery is above Golden Sands, and Cape Kaliakra is beyond Kavarna. Further west are Madara and Shumen, and Veliko Tarnovo makes a full day out. Tell us your route and how long you want to stay at each place – the dispatcher will give you the price before you set off, with no surprises afterwards.
Which vehicle should I choose?
- Sedan – up to 4 passengers with normal luggage.
- Minivan – up to 6 passengers, or fewer people with golf bags, a pushchair and lots of suitcases.
- Van – up to 8 passengers. For groups arriving on the same flight or going to a wedding.
- More than 8 people – on request. We can send several vehicles. See also minibus hire with driver.
When should I leave?
- For a flight from Varna – on summer evenings the road from Golden Sands and Albena through the city slows down. Leave with at least half an hour to spare.
- To Sofia – it is a long trip, so many people leave early in the morning and arrive by lunchtime. A break on the way – whenever you ask.
- To Bucharest – there may be a wait at the border on public holidays. Allow extra time if you are catching a flight from Otopeni Airport.
Can I travel with children or with a dog or cat?
Child seats come at no extra charge. Tell us your child’s age and weight when you book.
