Car with a driver or self-drive car hire
A self-drive rental car looks cheaper until you add up all the costs and risks. Here is the difference in practice:
- Paperwork and deposit. With self-drive hire you sign a contract, an amount is blocked on your card and your driving licence is checked. With a car and driver – none of that. You pay after the ride.
- Damage and fines. Without a driver the responsibility is yours – a scratch in a car park or a speeding fine comes back to you. With a driver it is not your concern.
- Fuel and vignettes. The price for the route is known in advance, and you do not have to think about refuelling or road vignettes.
- Rest. After a flight, a meeting or a wedding you do not drive tired. You can work, sleep or enjoy the scenery.
- Unfamiliar roads. The driver knows the way to resorts, airports and border crossings, including the mountain sections in winter.

How the price is set
For a point-to-point transfer the price is fixed and is for the whole car, one way, not per person. You can see it in the calculator above before you book, for a car, a minivan and a minibus. If you need a car with a driver for a whole day, for several addresses or for a tour, call us and describe your plans – we will give you a price for them. We do not ask for a deposit or prepayment.
Example: a working day in another city
You have a meeting at 10:00 in Plovdiv and another at 15:00 in Stara Zagora, and in the evening you need to be back in Sofia. With a self-drive rental car you would drive about 500 km on your own, look for parking twice and get home exhausted. With a car and driver you leave home at 7:45, prepare for your meetings on the way and work in the car in between. Describe your day to us and we will give you a price for the whole day.
Guests from abroad
If you are welcoming partners, relatives or friends from abroad, a car with a driver solves several problems at once. Your guest does not have to drive on unfamiliar roads, read signs in Cyrillic or look for an address in a city they do not know. Just give us their name, flight number and the address they need to go to. If the flight is delayed, we wait for as long as it takes. If your guest is travelling with suitcases for a long stay or with colleagues, we send a minivan or a minibus. For official guests – an S- or E-Class car.
With children
We fit child seats and boosters free of charge. Tell us the children’s ages when you book and the seats will be in the car when we pick you up.
With a dog or cat
We carry pets only together with their owner. The animal travels in a crate or carrier that is your own. Tell us the size of the crate so that we send a suitable vehicle. See pet-friendly transfers in Bulgaria.
How far in advance to book
For a normal transfer between cities or to the airport it is usually enough to book a day or two in advance, and sometimes even on the same day. For public holidays, summer Saturdays, the ski season and the wedding season, book as early as you can – that is when demand is highest. For an S- or E-Class car, or for several cars at once, it is also best to let us know early.
